Al-Appointy: From the city of Lakes to the city of Sheikhs! [Part 2/2]

This is part 2 of a two-part series about Appointy’s international offsite to Dubai.

Read about our first day at the Desert Safari Camp with camels, Hummers, and belle-dancing here.

Once every year, Appointy takes out its team on an international offsite. This year’s destination was Dubai.

After a day at the Desert Safari camp, dancing, enjoying Sheesha, and watching amazing dance performances, we slept hard back at our hotel.

So hard that I almost missed the next day at the Atlantis Adventure Park. It’d have been a shame to miss adrenaline-shooting rides, private beach fun, and some absolutely amazing time with the team.

Day 2: Palm Atlantis

Going to world’s best ANYTHING is often a rare occasion. But mostly an unforgettable one.

And we were going to go to the world’s best adventure park.

Of course everyone was dressed up and ready to leave on time.

Our bus picked up around 10 (after free breakfast at the hotel) and dropped us here:

This led us to the main adventure park which looked like this:

I still find it hard to believe that it was real.

Right after changing into our swimsuits, we started out to explore the place. The first thing we did was trying the scariest, 9-storey, mega slide with a near-vertical ascent which lasts for just one second and ends into a clear tube surrounded by sharks. SHARKS!

How’s that for scary?

Nonetheless, my favourite part was the private beach. It had recliners to bask in the sun, dancing, volley ball nets, and little golf courses around.

From cruising around in the beach van to swimming with exotic fishes around, the day was definitely a blast.

Day 3:

We had the last three days to explore the city all by ourselves.

Most of us ended up going to see the mighty Burj Khalifa. And it was a treat to the eyes.

It looked even better in the night!

Later that night, we hired a private cruise from Dubai Marina to take us around the city. That’s our cruise right there.

And this is how the world look like from its deck:

With dancing, dinner, and music aboard the cruise in the glittering lights of Dubai, it was probably the best part of the trip for me.

Apart from this, we did a couple of other great things too. Like attending the biggest tech sale of the world: Gitex.

Visited the beautiful Global Village:

And the Burj-al-Arab beach

This blog has gotten quite long and I’d like to wrap it up now.

Planning an international offsite with the entire team is never easy. From flights, to Visas, to itineraries, there are innumerable that can go wrong. This was majorly because almost everything was well researched and planned days in advance.

Don’t kill me for my vagueness just yet. I already have the notes for a blog about more detailed description on how to plan an international offsite. Wait up for it!

Until then, let me just reminisce ours for the last time…

Dubai was a sight of wonders. The entire week there seemed like a dream. Watching sky-high buildings, ultra-luxurious lifestyle, and everything which is the best of the best was great exposure.

All of us came back with a bag full of memories, phones packed with pictures, and a reinvented energy to work hard all year long.

Cheers!
